Official Records to Remember the Thrill of a Good Fight!

We members of JGFA maintain official records that document the excitement of catching the fish fairly in accordance with IGFA angling rules, as well as to preserve the culture of fishing in Japan. JGFA , in accordance with IGFA rules, examines the applications submitted by members on fishes caught in Japanese waters which are sanctioned, filed, and controlled as Japan records.

The sanctioned records are published in the JGFA Yearbook, newsletter and the Internet pages. In the event, there is a possibility of world records among the Japan records, JGFA will apply to IGFA for world record recognition.

The application for a Japan record is restricted to JGFA members ONLY. It will be too late for any lamenting AFTER catching a fish big enough for a Japan record. So join now before you miss out !
